Martinsville Soybean Field at Sunset No. 3

The Story:      A peaceful sunset wraps up a perfect day over Clinton County, Ohio.  After photographing the Martinsville Covered Bridge, I made my way home through the quiet backroads.  Under September’s dry skies, this soybean field neared the final stages of its harvest journey. As I passed, the setting sun backlit the golden stalks, giving the entire field a soft, self-illuminated glow.  It was one of those quiet Ohio evenings when the land seems to exhale… and all feels well. The Rest of the Story:  As I stood along the roadside, tripod in hand, the hum of the countryside settled around me.  This wasn’t a planned stop—just one of those quiet scenes that pulls you in.  There was no traffic, no wind… only the soft rustle of soybeans drying in the October sun. Moments like this remind me why I keep a camera close. They’re simple, fleeting, and easily missed—but when they come together just right, they linger long after the shutter clicks.
